Elizabeth Mason is an abstract landscape artist originally from Oceanside, CA, currently residing in Los Angeles. For as long as she can remember, art has always played an integral part in how she communicates, how she expresses herself, and how she sees the world. Elizabeth focuses on mixed media with an emphasis on texture, giving the landscape aspect of her pieces a striking and unique layer of warmth, depth and dimension.

Elizabeth’s work has been acquired from many highly regarded professionals in the interior design industry. In addition to her work with interior designers, Elizabeth has been accepted as a creator on Wescover, a marketplace that connects designers directly with artists who create unique, meaningfully made items.

Elizabeth has joined Art Dimensions Inc., a company that leases and sells fine contemporary art by well known, established and emerging artists to corporate clients, homeowners, home stagers, interior designers, and production sets for TV and film. Elizabeth is also an artist with Turning Art, an arts organization that offers a complete turn-key service for all sectors across the board by highly qualified art advisors.

“Elizabeth is a warm and lovely person, and her passion and energy comes through in her work, from her refined color sense to her playful experimentation with media and design, she creates works that feel easy and comforting to live with. I originally purchased my EM piece with a client in mind, but have grown so fond of it while in my possession that I’ve decided not to sell it.”

Elizabeth Mason’s work is elevated and approachable. Seamless to install in residential homes, my clients and I are drawn to her work because it is layered and textural with the most beautiful earthy color palettes. Her work draws you in to take a deeper examination and they always entice conversation.”

I enjoy using many mediums and styles, creating and appreciating the artistry in all its many forms. But what really resonates with me the most at the moment are the contemporary pieces that are created using mixed media; gritty natural elements with fluid paints, creating an effect that mimic growth in nature and space.

I feel a strong connection to nature as many do, so I like to implement elements of grounding earth and organic textures that you can see and physically feel. The mystery of life and our existence is something that has always intrigued me, and it’s something I feel drawn to express in my art. What are we other than living organisms floating in an ever expanding universe? Where was our origin and where do we go from here?

As I try to imagine what that could look like, I am drawn to images of nature and its repetition intrigues me. The spidering branches from the deep roots to the tops of a tree, the way the retreating waves on a beach leave the same branch-like forms in the sand, and the way the rain leaves those same impressions in the hills of mountains. The structure of our irises and the wrinkles on our hands. These natural formations even appear in the galaxy and across the universe. It is infinite and it is beautiful.

I feel a strong affinity to Mother Nature, even more so after becoming a mother myself. We are part of an endless cycle, and to some this may be daunting, but for me, to remember this envelops me in a calm I find so many of us need from time to time. With my paintings, I try to focus on the simplicity of that beauty while also aiming to express my awe and admiration for this thing called “life”. I strive to deliver the same sense of security I personally feel when I create.
